1. What stuv Friends is

stuv Friends is a non-commercial platform run by the student representation of the University of Würzburg for finding friends and study partners. It is not a dating platform. Once a week every participating person receives at most one match based on a structured questionnaire. Both sides see the same profile and decide with yes or no. Only if both say yes do they receive each other's university e-mail address. There is no chat, no free text, no photo upload and no browsing of other profiles.

2. Who may take part

  • Students of the University of Würzburg who are at least 18 years old. Age is checked at registration; afterwards only month and year of birth are stored.
  • Not for employees or lecturers of the university.
  • One profile per person. The university account is verified once and then only kept as a non-reversible checksum; a second registration with the same account is not possible.

3. Rules of conduct

  • Be honest in the questionnaire; no fake profiles, no false age.
  • The e-mail address handed over after a mutual yes is meant for the two of you only. Do not pass it on, do not publish it.
  • Write to your match respectfully; no insults, harassment, threats or advertising.
  • stuv Friends is about friendship and studying together. Unwanted flirting or sexual advances are not okay.
  • Studying together yes, cheating together no: do not use the platform to arrange cheating in exams or assignments.
  • Do not use the platform to identify, stalk or harass people.
  • A no is final. Respect it.

4. Complaints and blocking

There is no chat, no free text and no free contact field on stuv Friends, so there is no moderation queue. If you experience a violation of section 3, write to SUPPORT_EMAIL and name the pseudonym. Profiles may be blocked for violations of section 3 or for suspected fake or underage profiles. A block ends all sessions, removes open matches and marks the university account's checksum so that no new registration is possible. You can appeal by e-mail to the same address.

5. Forgotten password

There is no password recovery: your e-mail address and the addresses you receive are encrypted with a key that only your password unlocks. If you forget it, write from your university e-mail address to SUPPORT_EMAIL and state your university account. An admin then allows a one-time new registration; the old profile is orphaned and deleted automatically. With the recovery code shown at registration you can delete it immediately and reuse your pseudonym.

6. Deleting your profile

You can delete your profile at any time under “Profile & account”. All profile data, your e-mail address and open matches are deleted immediately. The checksum of your university account remains for 12 months to prevent circumvention of blocks and is then deleted.

7. Availability

stuv Friends is a volunteer-run service without guaranteed availability. Maintenance is announced on the site where possible; if a matching round fails, it is made up on the following day.
